The 2018 Volvo XC90 comes with three different engine options so you can decide which one best suits your needs. The first engine in the lineup is a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that makes 250 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. This engine set up has the available option for all-wheel drive. The next engine option is a 2.0 liter supercharged and turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 316 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The third option for an engine on the XC90 is a hybrid variant, a T8 AWF plug-in hybrid. This engine is a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder supercharged and turbocharged engine combined with an electric motor, making 400 horsepower and 472 lb-ft of torque. All engine options are paired to an 8-speed automatic Geartronic transmission.

As reported by the U.S. Department of Energy, the 2018 Volvo XC90 in front wheel driver gets 22/29 MPG city/highway and the T8 Plug-in hybrid engine model gets 62 MPG.


The 2018 Volvo XC90 is packed full of features. If you go with the Momentum design trim, your XC90 will feature a power tailgate, four-zone automatic climate control, power adjustable front seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, 8-inch driver information cluster, 18-inch wheels, and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Inscription trim includes a digital instrument cluster, real wood interior finishes, upgraded audio, leather upholstery, standard all-wheel drive, and active noise cancellation.

The Excellence trim package is only available on the plug-in hybrid models with AWD. This trim package includes premium audio from Bowers & Wilkins, heated and cooled front and back seats, beverage cooler, heads-up display, 21-inch wheels, air suspension, and a panoramic moonroof.

On all models of the XC90, there is a package of standard safety features.
