Serving Overland Park, Olathe, KS, and Kansas City, MO
Americans continue their love affairs with compact, luxury crossover vehicles because the best ones offer superior performance, style and features. Two top models are the 2018 Volvo XC60 and the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLC. Both are engineered to provide you exciting performance, outstanding safety and bullet-proof dependability. Their premium interiors include the advanced features you’ve come to expect from Volvo and Mercedes. We’re recommend you test drive both, because we think you’ll agree that the Volvo is a better vehicle.
Performance
The Volvo XC60 is available as a conventional or hybrid vehicle. The standard T5 engine is a 2.0-liter direct-injection turbo-4 putting out 250 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Power flows to all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission. The base Mercedes-Benz GLC engine is also a 2.0-liter turbo-4 outputting 241 horsepower and 273 lb-ft, routed by a 9-speed automatic to either the rear wheels or all four. The Mercedes-Benz offers three other gasoline engines, but no hybrid.
Dimensions
The Volvo XC60 is taller (65.3 vs 64.7 inches), wider (83.3 vs 82.5 inches), and longer (184.6 vs 183.3 inches) than the Mercedes-Benz GLC, with a bigger gas tank and a tighter turning radius. The handsome XC60 interior has more front/rear leg room (41.5/38.0 vs 40.8/37.3 inches), front headroom (38.0 vs 37.8 inches), and front shoulder room (58.2 vs 57.3 inches). The XC60 also gives you more cargo room (63.3 vs 56.5 cubic feet).
Audio
Both vehicles offer exceptional optional audio systems. The GLC is available with a 590-watt, 13-speaker Burmester Surround Sound System. Not bad! But take a look at the XC60’s Bowens & Wilkens Audio System with 15 speakers perfectly driven by an 1,100-watt amplifier . That’s a heavenly system.
